Ikelebe Royal Dynasty Of Auchi Kingdom Gets First SAN

Barrister Asamah Yusuf Kadiri, a Prince of Ikelebe Royal Dynasty Of Auchi has created the record of becoming the first member of the rulling family in Auchi, Edo North District of Edo State to be decorated with the prestigious silk robe of SAN.
The SAN is the highest legal title in Nigeria and is awarded as a mark of excellence to members of the legal profession who have distinguished themselves as advocates and academics and also confers a lot of privileges on its recipient.
Prince Kadiri who was called to the bar in 1995 was among the list of 62 others in the practising lawyers category who scaled the vigorous screening hurdle conducted by the Legal practioners Privileges Committee, LPPC, which draws membership from both the bar and the bench.
News about his making the final cut first crept into Auchi and quickly spread like a wild fire amongst residents of the ancient town, resulting in wild jubilation in several quarters in the kingdom.
The Chief Justice of the Nigeria is expected to perform the official conferment of the title on the 14th December.
Prince Kadiri boasts of a chain of Law Degrees, beginning from the University of Benin where he bagged his first degree in Law and then proceeded to Boston University, Massachusetts, United States of America for his Masters in lnternatonal Business Law, before finally settling at the Kebble College in Oxford, the United Kingdom, for an Advanced Diploma in lnternatonal Commercial Arbitration. He is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
The Auchi born Prince is a Partner at Jackson, Etiti and Edu and also head the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group.
He is an astute General Civil and Commercial Litigation practitioner with experience spanning over two decades and
has been ranked by Chambers Global and Legal 500 as a leading Corporate/Commercial Litigation/Dispute Resolution Lawyer in Nigeria.
His experience cuts across prosecuting and defending cases in State and Federal Courts, Appellate Courts, Tribunals and Commissions of Inquiry, as well as, Institutional, Domestic and International Arbitration Tribunals.
Last year's SAN conferment produced the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria in the history of Auchi with Barrister Anthony Malik breaking into the exclusive class of SANs.
