By DADA AYOKHAI
The former chairman of peoples Democratic party PDP, in Etsako west local government Hon. Baba Habeeb Sheriff Idenobemhe and 3 members have dragged Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki to a
Federal High Court in Abuja over planned to dissolve the party's executive across the state.
The petitioners in the suit prayed the court to restrain the national leadership of the party from dissolving the organs of the party in the state as constituted.
Hon.Idenebomhe and his co-travellers in the suit are Hon Onaiwu Felix – PDP Chairman, Ovia South West LGA, Edo State; Hon. Umoru Shaika – PDP Chairman, Ward 3 Etsako West LGA, and, Hon. Ebhodage Christopher – PDP Chairman, Ward 10 Esan North East LGA, Edo State.
The Executive Committee were elected this year at the ward, local government and State Congresses for a four-year tenure.
The plaintiffs’ motion is to also stop the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing such move.
Their action is probably based on speculations over an alleged move by Governor Godwin Obaseki calling for the dissolvent of the state party exco to pave the way for harmonisation of party structure in the state.
The governor was said to have called for the harmonisation of party leadership from the ward to state levels to enable him infuse his loyalists with whom he defected from the APC into the Exco
Trouble dey sleep Yanga go wake am. Obaseki should thread softly so as not to fall the roof he met intact on everyone's head. Is Anslem Ojezua amongst the loyalists he wants to infuse into the new party structure?
