Edo North produces Nigeria's 'Ambassador to Mozambique

By DADA AYOKHAI
After a long and arduous wait that was characterised by the pandering to several whimsical political sentiments, the federal government finally made good its promise to release the duty posts of the ambassadorial nominees.

The Senate, as stipulated, had  screened and approved the list of the ambassadorial nominees almost six months ago, but the executive dithered in releasing their duty stations.

Few days ago, however, President Buhari finally weighed in on the issue and ordered the official release of the ambassadorial nominees duty posts, thus, bringing to an end the debate that had engulfed the nation as to the fate of the nominees.

The ambassadorial nominees are expected to resume in their assigned countries any moment from now.

Barrister  Yamah Mohammed is one of those who made the final cut. His duty station, going by the list released, is Mozambique, a tiny southern African country which shares border with Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Swaziland.

About 66 per cent of Mozambique's 28 million population (2017 Census figure) live and work in the rural areas. Also endowed with an arable land and other mineral resources, Mozambique's recent discovery of offshore natural gas makes her a potential foreign direct investment bride

Barister Yamah, a lawyer, is from Iyuku village , Uzairue clan in Etsako West council area of Edo State.

His nomination is said to have been largely influenced by his kinsman, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, when he served as the national chairman of the APC.

Barrister Yamah is a politician of repute, he was an   House of respresentatives aspirant  under the PDP and APC banner.
