The gruesome murder of Prince Dennis Eloniyo Abuda by some unknown abductors has drawn the ire of his Fugar kinsmen who have demanded for the immortalization of his name by relevant authorities in the state.
They described the late Prince Dennis Abuda as an "illustrious son" of Fugar, and also called on President Buhari to direct the Inspector General of Police to set up a crack team to unravel the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder of Prince Abuda as well as bring the perpetrators to book.
Late Prince Abuda's kinsmen, under their umbrella body, Fugar Progressive Union, FPU, condemned his gruesome manner life was snuffed out of the victim, adding those behind the "gruesome act" must not go unpunished.
In a press statement, signed by FPU's National Publicity Secretary, Mr Solomon Obomighie, the Union
said the death of Prince Abuda must not go unresolved like others before it, saying it is time to put a final nail on the menace of kidnappers in the state.
Describing the late Prince Abuda as one finest minds to have come out of Fugar, FPU noted that though its pained by his death, it hopes it serves as an impetus to terminate the reign of terror and insecurity in the state.
According to FPU statement, Prince Dennis Abuda was abducted on Saturday, January 30, along with two other Fugar indigenes, Chief David Ogheakhe and Mr Richard Bologi, all riding in a Toyota Sienna car, by suspected kidnappers around Ehor village, on their way to Lagos.
Prince Abuda, also a US citizen and President of Fugar - American Foundation, an affiliate of FPU, was scheduled to board a return flight to his base in Atlanta, Georgia, to rejoin his family, having celebrated the Yuletide in Fugar with his kinsmen.
Sadly, after the release of the other two victims on Tuesday, February 2, by their abductors after collecting a hefty ransom, Prince Abuda was not so lucky.
The decomposing body of late Prince Abuda was later discovered and retrieved from the thick shrubs of Ehor village by a search party led by top police officers on Wednesday, February 3.
However, reeling under the pain of his gruesome murder, his Fugar kinsmen have called on both Etsako Central and Edo State authorities to set in motion plans to immortalise the deceased.
"We urge the authorities concerned, including the security agencies, to quickly halt this senseless brigandage and nightmare before it spins beyond control".
While it appealed for calm among its kinsmen, the body reaffirmed its believe in the ability of the security agencies in the state to unmask the perpetrators and bring them to book.
