Benin_ owena begins construction of Atte_ Egbigere bridge

The management of the Benin Owena Rivers Basin authority has commesed Construction work on the bridge linking Atte to Egbigere and other adjourning communities in Akoko Edo local government.
Similarly, the absence of the bridge has also affected the evacuation of farm produce from the affected areas to the neighboring towns.
Already, work on the bridge, which has reached 30 per cent completion stage, has brought tremendous smiles on the faces of the inhabitants hitherto cut off from their kinsmen in Akoko Edo and its environs.
The Atte/Egbigere bridge, constructed during the military administration of late Samuel Ogbemudia, who served as governor of the old Bendel State, collapsed as a result of old age and disrepair.
The bridge also served as a link from Atte to Uzairue and Okpella in Etsako.
The Inhabitants of the affected areas were subjected to the agony of having to make several detours in reaching their destinations.
The managing director of Benin Owena Rivers Basin authority, Engr saliu Ahmed had during his duty tour of the area observed the dilapidated state of the bridge and promised to facilitate its reconstruction.
That promise is now in the process of been fulfilled in line with the policy of the Buhari administration to boost the local economy and make life more abundant for the rural folks.

Under the leadership of Engr Saliu Ahmed, the Authority engaged in the provision of critical infrastructural projects aimed at making life bearable for those living in its catchment area.
