Dialysis center situated at the Auchi Central Hospital, Auchi.
The dialysis center is a federal zonal project facilitated by the senator representing Edo North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Francis Alimikhena.
The commissioning ceremony served as the formal handing over of the facilities to the Edo State government for onward usage by the public.
In his speech at the ceremony while handing over the edifice to the government, Senator Alimikhena said the commisioning of the centre at the Auchi Central Hospital, is a fulfilment of the intention of the federal government in establishing zonal intervention project.
"The overall essence of zonal intervention projects or constituency projects as they call it are expected to fill infrastructural gaps in our constituency, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare services, provision of water, electricity, roads and job creation for the youths.
Senator Alimikhena who is the Chairman Senate Committee on Customs, Excise and Tarrif, said "We have brought infrastructural revolution to Edo-North through federal intervention.
"Legislators have a role to inject equity in attracting federal budget patronage through constituency projects. If not for constituency projects, many communities in the country, Edo-North inclusive, the one am commissioning today would not have enjoyed federal government's patronage and that is the reason we have been able to achieve all we have done for Edo North people."
This project is expected to serve as a succour to patients living with kidney diseases within Edo-North and its environs, as they will no longer have to travel distance to get adequate treatment.
Highlights of the program was the official handing over of the Dialysis Centre to the deputy governor of Edo State who received and commissioned the project on behalf of the state government.
