Ihonvbere Proposes School of Nursing and Midwifery at Sobe

The Hon member representing Owan federal constituency at the National Assembly, Prof Julius Ihonvbere has tabled a bill at the floor of the House for the establishment of a School of Nursing and Midwifery at Sobe, Owan West local government area of Edo State.
The bill recently scaled through the first reading at the floor of the House of Representatives.
According to Prof Ihonvbere, the motive of sponsoring the Bill centered on the need to help mitigate the high maternal and infant mortality rates in Edo State and Nigeria by extension.
The lawmaker also said the emergence of covid-19 pandemic seriously exposed the lack of adequate medical personnel in the health institutions.
He maintained that he is especially elated at the Bill passing through the first hurdle towards becoming a law and hopes that the Second and Third reading stages will be passed before the end of the year as he foresees the establishment of the school of Nursing bringing medicare closer to the people.
Ihonvbere has further reassured constituents of bringing legislation closer to the grassroot as he seeks an unalloyed support and prayers towards making Owan second to none in the state and in the country at large.
