By DADA AYOKHAI
The outcome of the Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC) state's congress to elect party officers which took place in Benin, saw the displacement of Barrister S. S Mayaki as the party's Vice Chairman for Edo North Senatorial District.
The lawyer turned politician, Mayaki, was replaced by Hon Aslem Agbabi also from Akoko Edo local government.
The replacement of Barrister Mayaki by Hon Aslem Agbabi, a former member of Edo State House of Assembly and Chairman of Akoko-Edo local government is expected to change the power play in Akoko Edo and Edo North politics ahead of the National Assembly Election in 2023.
The duo of Mayaki and Agbabi, though from the same party but belong to different blogs within the party.
It is claimed that the emergence of Hon Agbabi might put a halt to the dominance of Akpatason Peter, a member of the House of Representativese in Akoko Edo politics.
