A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo North Senatorial District of the state, led by the media mongul, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi has met in Agenebode , Etsako East local government.

The faction, in their meeting, passed a vote of confidence on Chief Dan Orbih and others purportedly suspecded by another faction of the Edo North PDP leaders which was later ratified by a group of PDP leaders with governor Obaseki and his deputy, Philip shaibu in attendance.

The gathering which was refered to as Edo North Senatorial Zone quarterly meeting, took place at the country home of Chairman, DAAR Communications and Board of Trustees (BOT) member, Chief Raymond Dokpesi  in Agenebode, Etsako East local government area of Edo State,.

The statement which was signed by Baba Sheriff Idenobemhe, Assistant Secretary (Edo North) pleaded that all hands should be on deck to work towards a successful national convention coming up in Abuja in a few weeks.

Idenobemhe reiterated that the purported suspension of Orbih, Otsu, Saiki and five chairmen from the zone was illegal and unconstitutional.

He vowed: “The perpetrators of the illegal suspension will be identified and disciplinary measures shall be imposed on them. Edo North Senatorial PDP and Edo State PDP remain committed to a strong and indivisible party.”

The scribe said that the tenets and constitution of the PDP will be upheld at all times in all party activities, especially with regards to the illegal meetings being held in some constituencies claiming to “harmonise” local government areas and ward executive councils.

The Edo North top party leader noted that if the South South national vice chairman was originally involved in the negotiations for Governor Godwin Obaseki’s adoption, the process would have been better managed and the current imbroglio would have been averted.

Present at the meeting were Orbih; Dokpesi; State Working Committee members from the zone; Otsu; State Auditor, Dr. Wilson Imongan;  all the local government areas and ward chairmen from the zone as well as two leaders representing each ward.
