Former Owan East LGA Secretary, Mike Ezekiel, hacks to death at Ifon_ Uzebba road

A former secretary of Owan East local government, Hon Mike Ezekiel has been reportedly hacked to death by an unknown gunmen at the ifon _uzebba road closed to the border between Edo and Ondo states.

The lifeless body riddled with bullets of the former scribe of the Owan East local government has been deposited in the morgue.



Mr Mike Ezekiel , who hails from Ake, was the Secretary to Owan East Local Government Transition Committee between 2010 to 2012 .

This sad incident was revealed through a statement issued  by the Hon member representing owan federal constituency, Prof Julius ihonvbere.

The Hon statement which was signed by the senior media aide, Mr Joshua Iraoya said:

"Hon (Prof) Julius Ihonvbere has expressed sadness,disgust and dejection over the sudden demise of Mr Mike Ezekiel,former Secretary to Owan East Local Government Council who was gruesomely murdered over the weekend along Ifon/Uzebba road"

" news of the death of Ezekiel has left him in so much discomfort and shock. He noted that the brutal murder of the former Owan East Scribe is even more saddening against the backdrop of the fact that his life was cut short in it's prime in a dastardly manner."

The lawmaker noted that the   the loss  has left a huge void in the rank of emerging leaders in Owan Federal Constituency which will be difficult to fill.

Ihonvbere who is Chairman House Committee on Basic Education and Services at the House of Representatives called on the relevant security agencies to swing into action in order to unravel the mystery and circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder of the former Owan East Council Secretary and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.
 
The Owan Rep  described the death of Mike Ezekiel as a personal loss to him added that it is hard to fathom the pain he felt at the news of his gruesome murder.

While expressing his deep and heartfelt sympathy to the immediate family of the deceased,the Ake people where the deceased hailed from, the All Progressives Congress (APC) family where the late Ezekiel was a stalwart and the entire people of Owan Federal Constituency whom he represents at the House of Representatives,Prof Ihonvbere prayed God to grant the soul of the departed the needed repose and the bereaved the courage and strength to bear this irreplaceable loss.

Auchi Microfinance Bank groans under high customers debt profiles

By DADA AYOKHAI  The management of Auchi Microfinance Bank (AMFB), yesterday, decried the high indebtedness of customers to the bank just as it urges customers to pay up in order to remain in business. Chairman of the financial institution, Hassan Momodu, expressed his resentment at its 22nd and 23rd joint annual general meetings of the bank in Auchi, Edo  According to him "We are using this medium to appeal passionately to our shareholders and the general public that are indebted to us to pay up to reduce our yearly provisioning and improve our profitability”,  Momodu also said that the increase in the fund in the period under review represented a 29 percent improvement on the fund.
