Igarra abducted pupils: Edo Assembly demands Obaseki's intervention

The Edo House of Assembly has demanded for Gov. Godwin Obaseki intervention in ensuring the timely release and unhurt, the two pupils of Glory Land private at Igarra abducted two days by suspected kidnappers along the Auchi_ Igarra road.

The reports about the ugly incident of kidnapping of the two pupils and other related matters was raised at the floor of the House by the hon member representing Akoko Edo constituency, Mr. Emmanuel Agbaje
Agbaje, who decried insecurity in the council area, narrated how pupils of the school were kidnapped on their way from the school on Tuesday.
The lawmaker who lamented over the rates of kidnapping in the area, narrated how a horrible situation where a person, who went to pay ransom for the release of his family members, was kidnapped.
Hon Agbaje urged the lawmakers to wade into the matter, with a view to rescuing the kidnapped pupils and putting an end to incessant kidnapping in the area.
Also speaking on the issue, Mr. Yekini Idaiye who is also representing a section of Akoko-Edo at the house, said that the lawmakers had been trying their best to support members of the vigilante group and the hunters in the fight against insecurity, adding that they could do better.
The Chamber passed a resolution urging the Edo state government to activate the state security architecture for effectiveness and similarly called on the security agencies to increase their presence in Akoko-Edo by setting up response teams within the council area.
