Obaseki assures completion of Passenger Airport in Edo North before leaving office

Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has given assurance of completing the passenger Airport proposed to be sited in Uzairue Etsako West local government area of Edo North district
The governor gave the assurance at the state government house when he met with the Aviation team who were in the state to assess the project site.
The assessment team was led by Engr Clement Awogbami, a director with the Federal Ministry of Aviation.
Others on the entourage were aviation engineers from the NCAA, FAAN, NAMA and N'Met.
According to Governor Obaseki who met the Aviation team along with his deputy, Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu assured the team that the airport project was what he promised the people of Edo North, adding that he is determined to make it a reality before leaving office.
He assured that money for the project will be included in the state budget for 2022.
He said the state is ready but only awaiting their assessment report.
Pundits are of the opinion that With 3 years to exit office and dwindling resources, there is no assurance that the project will be completed during the life of his administration. There is also no assurance that his successor will see it as a priority project.
