Shaibu defends choice of Uzairue as site for Airport in Edo North

The Edo State deputy governor, RT Hon Philip Shaibu has defended the choice of Uzairue, Etsako West local government area as the site of the proposed passenger Airport in Edo North District of the state, saying it was purely based on economic value and interest of the people.
According to the deputy governor, who concidentally hails from the community said the choice of Uzairue" was unanimous due to the high presence of industrial and agro processing factories in the area with access to good road network."
The deputy governor who spoke through his Deputy Chief of Staff, Barr Jimah Ijegba said "the decision to establish the airport in the location was taken by the State Joint Committee and the
choice of Uzairue was unanimous due to the high presence of industrial and agro processing factories in the area with access to good road network. "Our decisions are always based on the economic value and benefits to our people"
The deputy governor similarly spoke on the economic benefits of having the airport in Edo North District.
He said "Airports are important parts of economic infrastructure which significantly contribute to economic growth and overall development.
" When completed, the airport will fuel economic development in Edo North by attracting investors and promoting commerce due to massive raw materials naturally deposited in the district".
