Zacks Garuba & Co., celebrate Auchi first SAN , Malik at 51

The Zacks Garuba and Co, a legal firm set up by the former Speaker of Edo state House of Assembly has rolled out the drums to celebrate her managing consultant,
Chief Anthony A. Malik, SAN who clocks 51.

 Chief Malik  holds the record of being the first son of  Auchi Kingdom, Etsako West Local Area of Edo State to be decorated with the enviable and prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

The award  was  celebrated by his people and loved  ones across the country.

Following the unfortunate passing-on of Rt. Hon. Zakawanu  Garuba, the former Speaker of Edo State House Assembly and Executive Commissioner of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) last year, Chief Malik took charge of Zacks Garuba & Co., 
 The  firm is celebrating the legal luminary birthday and also for his  immense contribution towards the advancements of the chamber.


A  birthday message signed by  Kingsley Idahosa, a Partner in the firm on behalf of the Chamber read thus;

May God Almighty bless your new age and continue to be with you. Its our prayer that God in His infinite mercy grant all that your heart desires  and perfect all that concern you.

Chief Malik obtained his LL.B (Hons) from the University of Ibadan and was called to the Nigerian Bar.

He holds a Masters Degree in Law (LL.M) from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and Masters in International Studies (MIS) from the University of Ilorin.

He holds Certificates in International Criminal Justice & Administration and Public Prosecution from the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies.

Auchi Microfinance Bank groans under high customers debt profiles

By DADA AYOKHAI  The management of Auchi Microfinance Bank (AMFB), yesterday, decried the high indebtedness of customers to the bank just as it urges customers to pay up in order to remain in business. Chairman of the financial institution, Hassan Momodu, expressed his resentment at its 22nd and 23rd joint annual general meetings of the bank in Auchi, Edo  According to him "We are using this medium to appeal passionately to our shareholders and the general public that are indebted to us to pay up to reduce our yearly provisioning and improve our profitability”,  Momodu also said that the increase in the fund in the period under review represented a 29 percent improvement on the fund. He maintained that the bank’s gross earnings within the period was N143.8million as against N131.1million in the 2018 financial year. By DADA AYOKHAI The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic party, PDP, will soon engage in another political battle over the choice of candidate to fill the position of the National Deputy Youth Leader  microzone to the state by the party to be formalized at the National convention slated for October 30 and 31st. The Edo State PDP chairman, Dr Tony Aziegbemi according to source unanimously  conceded the choice of who occupied that position to the state governor in tune as the Leader of the party in the state.
