Obaseki Earmarks Iruekpen-Sabogida-Ora, Sobe-Sabogida-Ora Roads for construction

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has earmarked the Iruekpen-Sabogida-Ora  and Sobe-Sabogida-Ora roads both in  Owan West local government in Edo north district of the state  among those  roads slated for construction by his  administration .
  
Governor Obaseki made the revelation during the 2022   budget presentation at the Edo State House of Assembly.
 

According to the governor,  N30bn will be spent on improving roads and bridges,  N21bn for building  more physical infrastructure and maintaining existing ones.

Reassuring the completion of all ongoing road projects in the state, Obaseki, reassured residents that his government remains committed to infrastructural development across the state.

According to him, “Our commitment to infrastructure renewal remains steadfast. In the new financial year, we have budgeted N30bn to improve roads and bridges and N21bn for building more physical infrastructure and maintaining existing ones.


Enumerating some achievements of the administration in terms of infrastructural development in the last one year, Obaseki further stated, “We have, in the last one year, awarded contracts for over 150 road projects spread across the three senatorial districts of the state. These include roads linking towns as well as small township and inner-city roads. While work is ongoing, our contractors have had to grapple with the adverse impact of the rainy season.”

Auchi Microfinance Bank groans under high customers debt profiles

By DADA AYOKHAI  The management of Auchi Microfinance Bank (AMFB), yesterday, decried the high indebtedness of customers to the bank just as it urges customers to pay up in order to remain in business. Chairman of the financial institution, Hassan Momodu, expressed his resentment at its 22nd and 23rd joint annual general meetings of the bank in Auchi, Edo  According to him "We are using this medium to appeal passionately to our shareholders and the general public that are indebted to us to pay up to reduce our yearly provisioning and improve our profitability”,  Momodu also said that the increase in the fund in the period under review represented a 29 percent improvement on the fund.
