Police rescue abducted Fugar DPO after one week in captivity

The Nigeria police, Edo State Command says it had rescued the kidnapped  Divisional Police Officer, CSP Ibrahim Aliyu Ishaq of Fugar division, Etsako Central Local Government.

Spokesman of the police Command, SP Kotongs Bello who confirmed this in statement a moment,  was however silent if  ransom was paid to secure the DPO’s release.

“CSP Ibrahim Ishaq, DPO  fugar have been freed by the Command operatives from the kidnappers den”, he said.

Recall that The DPO in charge Fugar, Etsako Central Local Government Area of the State, was kidnapped around Ise river on old Auchi – Ekperi- Agenebode road in the State a week ago.

Police had in a previous statement confirmed that gunmen intercepted the vehicle conveying CSP Ishaq and Sergeant Aliu (Orderly) who accompanied him on the aborted trip to Agenobode, Etsako East Local Government Area of the State,.

The kidnappers opens contact with  the family of the police officer for payment of ransom  according to reports.

Ishaq had served as the DPO in charge of Dakata Police Division in Kano State before he was redeployed to Edo State.
