Agba joins Oshiomhole, Oghiadomhe, Ihonvbere, Momoh, as Chieftancy Holders in Auchi Sacred Kingdom

Prince Agba, also of the royal family in Uzanu Uneme, Etsako East local government area, made all the headlines  penultimate week, as the ancient town of Auchi, the economic and Political headquarters of Edo North district,stood still in honour of one of its most illustrious sons. 

He was bestowed with the traditional title of the "Oduma", Lion in local parlance, of Auchi kingdom, a veiled reference to his to his focus and approach like deeds.
 
Prince Agba had, in recent times, particularly endeared himself to the people as a result of the zeal displayed when as a Commissioner during the former Governor Adams Oshiomole's administration and currently  attracting federal presence to the district. 

Undisputably, the chieftaincy coronation ceremony was, in itself, a sort of homecoming for Prince Agba fondly tagged "Auchi boy" by friends and acquaintances, because it is on record that he spent a significant proportion of his childhood in the ancient town. 

Indeed, the chieftaincy conferment ceremony was a show stopper in every ramification. 

The Otaru of Auchi, HRH H. A. Momoh, Ikelebe 111,  resplendent in his royal robes, ably supported by the various village Daudu's as well as other  members of the Otaru - in - Council, gave the event a huge traditional touch and meaning. 

However, the presence of  political bigwigs in the country, including the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo and his aides; Edo State deputy governor, Hon Phillip Shaibu, also in tow with his aides and other state top functionaries; former Edo State governor and past APC National chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomole; federal cabinet ministers; Hon Abubakar Momoh and other top APC chieftains, turned what was originally supposed to be a strictly traditional affair into a huge political carnival.

Some of the distinguished Edo North politicians who have at various times been conferred with traditional  Auchi titles by the present Otaru includes Chief Mike Oghiadomhe, a two term deputy governor of the state; Okakagbe of Auchi kingdom,  Comrade Adams Oshiomole,also a former governor and former APC National chairman;  OMOKPANABEBHVO , late Hon Zakawawu Garuba, a former Speaker of the Edo state House of Assembly, Oshiozie ; Hon Abubakar Momoh, Udi ,and, Prof Julius Ihonvbere, the Hon member  representing  representing Owan federal constituency at the National Assembly ,as the Irualigie of Auchi Sacred Kingdom.

Auchi Microfinance Bank groans under high customers debt profiles

By DADA AYOKHAI  The management of Auchi Microfinance Bank (AMFB), yesterday, decried the high indebtedness of customers to the bank just as it urges customers to pay up in order to remain in business. Chairman of the financial institution, Hassan Momodu, expressed his resentment at its 22nd and 23rd joint annual general meetings of the bank in Auchi, Edo  According to him "We are using this medium to appeal passionately to our shareholders and the general public that are indebted to us to pay up to reduce our yearly provisioning and improve our profitability”,  Momodu also said that the increase in the fund in the period under review represented a 29 percent improvement on the fund.
