Obomeghie, Chairman, OLOFOBA CLASS '86 WORLDWIDE gives account of stedwardship

Abdulwajid Obomeghie, chairman, OLOFOBA class of 1986, yesterday, commended members for sticking together for over 30 years despite the physical barrier.

He gave the commendation during a Yuletide/ New year  broadcast to all members worldwide.

Obomeghie said they are exceedingly grateful to the most high God for granting them this rare privilege of meeting again in peace and harmony after almost four decades of brotherhood and friendship made and nurtured at Our Lady of Fatima College, Auchi, noting that he is compelled to say with a high sense of sentiment considering the admonition of an African proverb "Twenty children don't play together for twenty years alas, here we are today"

The chairman, commended the alma maters for their swift responses to members in distress.

" Fast track very rapidly, OLOFOBA CLASS '86 came at no better time than our experience of some of the early events of year 2020 and 2021. We must recall with joy and sadness the swift response and cooperation of our brothers here to the massive support we gave to the bereaved children of late brothers, Mr Sunday aka Sakpoleke, Engr Yahaya Oseni,  the SOS and medical support we delivered to our late ASP, Femi Otu before his subsequent health crisis and demise. 

"This house rose to the assistance of Mr Julius Nwangala at time of his greatest crisis, we made support to our gallant officer Pst Jude Obiora and Rev Olumuyiwa Segun at the transition of their beloved parents", he said. 

He maintained that it was heartwarming to refresh their minds that they were able to visit their school to receive the original 1986 WAEC master list, and get first hand information on the state of affairs of their alma mater.

He said this culminated into parts of their proposal for the request to participate at giving support in one way or the other. 

He said during that period also, they were able to meet and interact with some of their Class teachers, Messers Hajia C.A.T Akande and Ever Smiling, whilst still making effort to meet many more.  

He further appealed to members to show more commitments to the growth of the body.

According to him "Please let's all show seriousness and personal commitment towards our key goals, by ensuring that we search and invite all our brothers and class mates who we are yet to reconnect, again am bold to proclaim "the more the merrier" this will improve our fraternal bounds. 

"Secondly, we shall soon set up various committees to handle different aspects of our programs, pls kindly make yourselves available and also cooperate maximally to enable us succeed. 

"Specifically, the membership registration, annual dues and special funds raising to deliver all our projects as marked out",

BORBDA Establishes four integrated farm in Edo state

By DADA AYOKHAI The Management of Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority (BORBDA), has in line with the federal government policy of shifting from oil to the non oil of the economy with emphasis on Agriculture has  established four integrated farms in Edo state. The farms located in Benin, Auchi, okpe and Uneme N'Ekhua were recently virtually commissioned by the minister of water resources, Engr Suileman Hussein Adamu from Benin, Edo state capital.
