Sen Braimoh's daughter makes Obaseki's commissionership list

Edo state governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki  has released the names of  another batch of  Commissioners designate with the daughter of Senator Yisa Braimoh, Afishetu  Braimoh making the list.

 It will be recalled that the Governor had earlier appointed 11 Commissioners few months back.

 A release issued and signed by the Secretary to Edo State Government, SSG, Mr Osarodion Ogie Esq, contained seven names of commissioner nominees. 

The statement further stated that the list of the commissioner nominees would be forwarded for screening and ratification by the state assembly, which is statutorily empowered to do so before the commissioners are sworn in.

Afie Braimoh who hails from Ihievbe in Owan East local government area ,  comes with a lot of multi sectoral cognate experience in strategic programme management and development, most of which span across technology , finance, marketing, hospitality, agro allied, ICT,  and others. 

Afie , is a multi-tasker who is well grounded in Economics , Business Administration, Resource & Projects Management and Trades & Investment.

Though being the daughter of a top PDP stalwart in Edo State may or may not  have conferred some advantage on her nicking the plum job  , Afie Braimoh with an intimidating cv and resume  is no pushover in her own right. 

Beyond speculations that her appointment may serve to compensate her father for the role he played in the reelection bid of Gov Obaseki, there's no doubt whatsoever that Afie Braimoh deserves her appointment based on her academic/ professional qualifications and over 26 years of  cognate industry experience in strategic programme management , agro allied industries , technological developments, corporate management and advanced cybersecurity administration.

Thus, she is  foreseen  as one of the few technocrats in the cabinet who are expected to translate the vision of the governor to make Edo State a major industrial and technology hub into reality .

Afie had her primary and secondary schools education in both Lagos and Benue states respectively before proceeding to Wolverhampton University, Uk where she earned her first degree (2:1) in Economics and London Middlesex University where she bagged an MBA degree in Strategy and Marketing .

Afie also holds an MSc degree in Applied & Strategic Programme Management from Villanova University ,US and various certificates/diplomas in Organisational Change Management , Ethical Hacking & Management etc etc.

Surely a chip of the old block, Afie Braimoh, like the father, is imbued with a passion to serve the people and this appointment provides a litmus test to see how far she can go.

Sen Yisa Braimoh, from Owan East LGA  represented Edo North in the Senate between 2007 and 2011.

Auchi Microfinance Bank groans under high customers debt profiles

By DADA AYOKHAI  The management of Auchi Microfinance Bank (AMFB), yesterday, decried the high indebtedness of customers to the bank just as it urges customers to pay up in order to remain in business. Chairman of the financial institution, Hassan Momodu, expressed his resentment at its 22nd and 23rd joint annual general meetings of the bank in Auchi, Edo  According to him "We are using this medium to appeal passionately to our shareholders and the general public that are indebted to us to pay up to reduce our yearly provisioning and improve our profitability”,  Momodu also said that the increase in the fund in the period under review represented a 29 percent improvement on the fund.
