Jarret Tenebe retains Edo State APC deputy chairmanship seat

By DADA AYOKHAI
Former APC deputy chairman, Edo State, Emperor Jarret Tenebe,  has  retained same  position in the newly  inagurated caretaker  committee .

The  New members of the State Caretaker Committee of the APC  were recently sworn in by the chairman of the caretaker committee, Col. (Dr.) David Imuse(rtd).

The  deputy chairmanship
slot which was zoned to Edo North Distrct of the state has at the onset, Chief Chatty Mogaji from Auchi as deputy chairman who unfortunately died from undisclosed sickness during his tenure.

Mr  Kenneth Asekhomhe from Ayogwiri was appointed to replace myogaji as deputy chairman but along the line he was removed by his constituency over his role in the legal suit that led to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole's suspension then as national chairman of the party.

The oath taking ceremony   took place at the State party secretariat in Benin City.

In his remarks at the ceremony Col. Imuse admonished the newly sworn in caretaker committee members to take their alignments and appointments seriously, so that collectively, they can build a strong party that will take the state to the promised land.

He said the inauguration of the caretaker committee became necessary when, "two weeks ago the National Caretaker Committee of the APC dissolved all the organs of the party at zonal, state, local government and ward levels and directed that Caretaker Committees be set up in every state.

"Today, what we are having is the Edo State Caretaker Committee of the APC. Everybody here today is new, the old has passed away and by the special grace of God and with the power of the National Caretaker Committee Chairman, H.E. Governor Mai Mallam Buni, I have been considered fit to be Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee to pilot the affairs of the party in the state."

He also extended the olive branch to some party members who left for other parties to return home so that all can build a stronger united party in the state saying, "we  want to tell some of our members who went on a voyage to some other political parties, in search of the elusive greener pastures and those who went on sabbatical politically that the time has come for them to come home, so that together we will build a strong united party."

He said, "...The old has passed away there is no victor, no vanquished. They are free to come back to this party and will be treated, accepted and integrated in line with the traditional hospitality of the APC. There is no old or new members, we are all joiners. They are all welcome and we are expecting them to come any day, any time.

"For those of us in Edo State, it has put an end to an era of divisiveness, era of lies, innuendos and an era of insinuations. Your assignment and appointments is  a call to duty and a call to service to put in the best for our party. Where your personal interest conflicts with the party interest, the party interest takes precedence."
