Be humble in defeat- Tenebe advises APC

An Edo North PDP stalwart, Hon Henry Duke Tenebe, has berated members of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state of been bad losers, stating that leaders of the party have become paranoid and engrossed in the unprofitable adventure of how to rubbish the hard earned reputation of Gov Godwin Obaseki.

Advising the APC leaders in the state to stop challenging the outcome of the Edo 2020 guber poll, Hon Tenebe noted emphatically that God had a finger in the victory of Gov Godwin Obaseki and, therefore, urged the APC to look forward to another election instead of dissipating their energy on a lost cause.

Hon Tenebe's advice is sequel to the judicial victory just secured in an Abuja High Court by Gov Obaseki, in which he was absolved of all charges filed against him by the APC. 

According to Hon Tenebe, who is also a member of the state's transition committee, it is the height of irresponsibility and ignorance for any normal  person or, anyone for that matter, who has never had the rare privilege of seeing the four walls of a university and, perhaps, may have lost hope of ever achieving such a feat, to claim that a well rounded and credentialed gentleman like Obaseki, who is both an asset and distinguished alumni of the great UI, forged the certificate of the school when in actual fact they have never sighted the original certificate.

He went on to congratulate the governor on his judicial victory, urging him not to be distracted by such "face saving" antics of the opposition, adding his attention should be  on how to consolidate on his people oriented policies that endeared him to the Edo electorates, in the first place. 

In particular, he admonished the governor to focus on his freely given mandate, stressing Edo electorates irrespective of their political affiliations have clamoured for the dividends of good governance of which they bank on the Obaseki administration to deliver.

Auchi Microfinance Bank groans under high customers debt profiles

By DADA AYOKHAI  The management of Auchi Microfinance Bank (AMFB), yesterday, decried the high indebtedness of customers to the bank just as it urges customers to pay up in order to remain in business. Chairman of the financial institution, Hassan Momodu, expressed his resentment at its 22nd and 23rd joint annual general meetings of the bank in Auchi, Edo  According to him "We are using this medium to appeal passionately to our shareholders and the general public that are indebted to us to pay up to reduce our yearly provisioning and improve our profitability”,  Momodu also said that the increase in the fund in the period under review represented a 29 percent improvement on the fund.
